ANOTHER RECALL-MORE DIE

Varieties of SPORTMIX DOG FOOD has been recalled by The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a result of toxic levels of Aflotoxin.

In simple terms, Aflatoxins are poisons that are produced by certain molds that grow in soil, and decaying vegetation, like corn, and grains. Many commercial dog foods include corn and grain in dog food. This is not the first time in recent times that Aflotoxin has been the cause of illness and death of our canine family members.

According to the FDA, dogs with aflatoxin poisoning may experience the following symptoms,  sluggishness, loss of appetite, vomiting, jaundice (yellowish tint to the eyes, gums or skin due to liver damage), and/or diarrhea.

If you believe you have fed your dog any contaminated Sportmix dog food please check the FDA list of products recalled. Please do not hesitate to contact your veterinarian.
