I often find myself explaining the differences between an Emotional Support Dog and a Service Dog. Of course, the training given to the wonderful dogs is not at all the same, but neither are the additional benefits that apply to them. This is a standing poster at the entrance of Publix Supermarket. It clearly states that only Service Dogs are allowed in their store. NOT emotion support dogs.
It also clearly states, that this has been determined UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, and not Publix. The ADA, American Disability Act distinctly explains the differences and the laws that apply, including the benefits given to Service Dogs and their ability to accompany their pet parent whenever and wherever needed.
